Mark Stephen Willingham was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but has
spent most of his adult life living in the North Carolina mountains.
Coming from a family of creativity and ingenuity, he has been
characterized as a true "Renaissance Man" being talented in many
mediums; furniture building and design, wood sculptures, construction,
music, landscape design, and writing. But his first love is painting.
Willingham has explored several mediums, charcoal, pen, and ink,
and has had considerable success with watercolors, but his preferred
medium, oils, showcases his talent.
While much of Willingham's early training was the result of self
study and research, he has had the experience of studying with
several master artists; acclaimed frescoe and portrait artist,
Ben Long, renowned landscape and still life artist, Edward Szmyd,
and the passionate Italian landscape artist, Egidio Antoniccio.
Willingham's paintings have been featured in designer showcase
homes, galleries, and have found their way into many collectors'
homes around the world.
Willingham meticulously prepares all his own Belgian linen canvases,
insuring his collectors a work of art that will endure through
centuries of admiration.
